ABOUT
Timothy is a Master student in the interdisciplinary marine science program of Oceans & Lakes, conducting thesis research on the temporal and spatial variability of coccolithophore blooms in the North Sea. His broader research interest is to develop a holistic understanding of the Earth’s climate system, particularly the connections between ocean and atmosphere.
Timothy began his career in carpentry, earning a journeyman’s certificate before shifting to academia. He studied biology and chemistry at the University of Regensburg, ultimately completing a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2023 with a thesis on copper as a photocatalyst in organic chemistry.
