ABOUT
Griet is a marine scientist with expertise in ocean observation and advanced technologies for studying marine carbon cycling and ecosystems. Her work includes bio-optical sensor development and detection algorithms, biogeochemical and optical characterization of marine particles, autonomous ocean observation systems, and ocean color satellite algorithm development and data processing. She mainly harnesses these technologies to investigate planktonic ecosystem dynamics and the ocean's biological and carbonate pumps.
Griet is the Head of the MarSens research group and a VLIZ-affiliated researcher.
