CarbOcean aims to develop novel autonomous sensors for enhanced robotic observations and improved mechanistic understanding of the open ocean’s biological carbon pump. Specifically, CarbOcean will develop and deploy enhanced BioGeoChemical-Argo profiling floats, capable of observing the hard and soft tissue components of the biological carbon pump and will improve biogeochemical models of the interplay between these components.
