BERNARDO links scientific research on marine carbon budgets to blue economy industrial applications through enhanced observations. By filling the knowledge gaps in monitoring and data modelling of marine carbon in shelf seas, industrial valorisation opportunities for marine carbon budgeting will be unlocked.
The role of MarSens in BERNARDO is to:
-
pioneer the development of an autonomous in situ monitoring system and remote sensing products for marine carbon variables
-
address knowledge gaps in our mechanistic understanding of the carbon budget by examining physical, chemical, and biological drivers.
